Executive Order N-7-22 Well Permitting
On March 28, 2022 Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-7-22 (EO) related to the continuing drought. The EO includes numerous mandates for water conservation, modifications to current regulations to address the drought, and new review requirements for local well permitting agencies and groundwater sustainability agencies (GSAs) for agricultural and industrial water supply wells.
In order to comply with the EO, the Kern Subbasin GSAs and Kern County have developed two new forms that will need to be included with the well permit application to satisfy the new review requirements. These forms must be included with the well permit application and, if completed, will allow Kern County to process the well permit application.
If you have any questions please contact the Cawelo Groundwater Sustainability Agency.
